Neo Integration
Neo is a popular Craft CMS plugin that introduces a matrix-like field with a number of improvements. Although it's a totally separate field type to the default matrix field, Matrix Field Preview supports it out-of-the-box.
Requirements
You need to be using Neo >= 3.0.0 for Matrix Field Preview to work with Neo.
Installation
Outside of installing the Neo plugin itself, there's no additional installation or code-configuration required.
Configuration
When you visit the Matrix Field Preview settings page, you should automatically see an additional section for your Neo fields:
These two sections operate identically to the regular matrix field configuration steps.
- Configure which neo fields you want to use the plugin with.
- Configure the actual previews, uploading screenshots and adding explanations.
Advanced configuration
Disabling for single children
There is an additional global Disable for single children setting for Neo that doesn't exist for regular matrix fields.
In short, this setting lets you skip the preview modal overlay when there is only one child block available.
The longer version
Unlike regular matrix fields, Neo lets you nest blocks within other blocks. Furthermore you can control exactly which blocks are allowed to be selected as children to any particular block.
When there is only one child block configured though, it can be tedious to have to manually select it from the modal overlay. This settings lets you disable this, and automatically adds an instance of the single child when the "add block" button is pressed.
